These costs are alterable to fulfil your requirements and by choosing the appropriate deal one can save valuable money.

  • Calls - It's the most fundamental service provided by the network providers, but the costs vary hugely from calls to the very same network. e.g., off peak charging 5 to 30p per minute, to calls to various networks costing between 20 to 50p per minute at the peak time. While the calls to the fixed lines at peak hour time can cost from 10 to 40p per minute.
  • Data - Quite naturally the costs get differentiated among networks for data services like downloading from the internet using the i-mode, WAP costs, etc. Like, O2 is currently offering a 1MB browsing remittance as part of its monthly fee on i-mode phones; while the Orange's 'world access' monthly charges range from 4 to 400MB coming with the monthly fees going from £4 to £88.13.
  • Direct debit - If one opts for paying monthly direct debit then it can save money on his/her bills.
  • E-billing - Opting to have the phone bills e-mailed to you also can save money in case of some networks.
  • Further extras - As adding extras means additional charges, some networks allow the customers to buy extras in packages.
  • International calls - The costs of making international calls vary among networks with a basic price rise of 10p in 2005.
  • PAYG/Anytime - Some networks give a PAYG/Anytime facility which enables the customers to pay the same for calls during whole day. This is thus quite ideal for the business purpose.
  • Text messaging - It costs normally range from 10 to 12p.
  • Text messaging bundles - Some of the networks offer you quite cheap text messages if you purchase them in 'bundles'.
